Where's Marvin?
Owen stepped off the bus yesterday with a surprise. It was his turn to bring home the class pet for the weekend. Boy was I excited. This means homework :( He has to write (or I write) what he and Marvin did this weekend and draw a picture or take a photo. They have been busy!

While I am thankful that Marvin is just a stuffed animal, I can't help but think where this monkey has been this flu season. Trying not to care!
O Christmas Tree...
Grandma and Sir had special packages for the boys to open when we got our tree. These were a totally surprise for me. I've always wanted to add to our classy antique Little People Nativity Set but could never bring myself to buy the extras. Well, now we've got it all! More pieces than we know what to do with. Today we reenacted the story using almost all the pieces. EJ read the story, Owen was in charge of the wise men, Mason the shepherds and I handled Joseph, Mary and Jesus. We weren't sure exactly when the drummer boy came in, but we worked it out. Hopefully by Christmas they will be telling the story themselves:)

19 Weeks :)
Most likely more than half way there! Owen was born at 36.5 weeks and Mason arrived at 37 weeks! Plus soon we'll know if the baby is a boy or girl :) So maybe I'll stop have so many dreams about it. Either way, we have the name chosen already.
The weekend after Christmas Day, Mason will move into Owen's room. I am very nervous about this and want to get it over with long before the baby comes. Owen will have the following week home from school so he can nap if Mason keeps him up too late (Mason is our night owl and not a quiet one). In January, we'll be free to work on the nursery. Not that we will be doing much, but the crib does have to be set up again and I'll try to come up a special project to make the room a little different. If the baby is a girl, a little more will be done ;) With my history of bed rest I have learned to start early or else I am laying on the floor telling everyone else what to do. And those somebody elses don't always enjoy themselves!

Christmas Tour
We brought the Christmas decorations up from the basement on Sunday. (Not the tree stuff b/c we don't have one yet) Owen was so excited to tear through the boxes. He really remembers everything and Mason hasn't a clue. So, he has taken it upon himself to be Mason's Christmas tour guide. It's so fun to see Christmas through the eyes of a 2 year old. Everything is new and amazing. Owen has shown him ALL the books, decorations, explained the stockings, pointed out candles, toys etc.
There is no way my children will see past the materialism of the Christmas season. For I am displaying it to them right before their eyes. I have more "decorating" plans this year than normal b/c its my first year of hosting Christmas. Normally it is at my parents house. I have decided that this is a good excuse to buy and make more stuff. EJ is not happy. He doesn't want to store more or have to bring it down and up from the basement each year. Why does this matter so much to me? Why can't I be happy with what I have? Tis the Season to be sinful, ugh! Thank you Jesus for coming to rescue me.
