Sick Little Girl

Avery has been relatively healthy since her homecoming. Gotcha was exactly 9 months today! We will certainly remember this sickness! Poor girl

Tuesday, Avery woke up early from her nap very upset. At 4 p.m. she (very quietly) threw up. As in no one even noticed until we saw it. She was standing right next to me in the kitchen. It was a busy afternoon. Mason was supposed to be at school by 6 for his 1st grade performance. Pics to come. Family was coming to watch him and celebrate his birthday. I was trying to prepare dinner for 10, plus homework and bday dessert. LOVELY timing!

She wouldn't let anyone but me hold her so when my arms needed a break, she rested on the floor. I could not get her to stay on a blanket or towel. The cold floor must have felt better. (no fever)

Wednesday proved worse. She didn't get sick that often, but apparently it doesn't take much to dehydrate my lightweight girl.

 

 

By 3p.m. I was waiting for the doors of a children's medical facility to open assuming she needed an IV.  My friend Cindy rushed over to be with Ryan (he was napping) until my sister could get to our house. My mom eventually relieved my sister. EJ was out of town for the day! I was right. 2.5 hours later, I left with a slightly perkier little girl.

Today, day 3, she is still not eating anything. Thankfully she is drinking small amounts. She is feistier today and not content to lay on the floor. Hoping those are good signs. She is not asleep in this picture but making it known that nothing I offer will matter :(

 

Ryan is handling everything well considering we do nothing but play games on the couch. This morning we went on a walk. It was so nice to get some fresh air and do something other than hold/carry Avery.

We tried our best to make Mason's bday a good one despite the craziness. Thankfully we celebrated on Tuesday b/c he's actually bday got the shaft. His party is not for another week. phew!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Our Valentine's Day will be pretty low key. Just thankful we can eat (a little) !!

 Grandma risked her health to drop off some treats earlier this week. 

Self-inflating balloons. Just pound on them and they blow up. Ryan loved his ;) 

Poor guy is getting a little stir crazy. He was the 1st to get sick and has been well since Monday night. I think he is ready for some real meals again and someplace to explore other than our house.

Mason is back at school, but Owen is out for the 3rd day in a row. Crazy! He is missing a field trip and the Valentine exchange. This is EJ's 3rd day home too (1st day caring for the rest of us and 2 days sick/recovering).

No Fun!

I am back in the land of the living. The stomach virus attacked our household. It took all of us down. Thankfully I went second and EJ went last, so we could still manage to care for our children. He is still down for the count.
With Lysol in hand, I have changed bedsheets and done 4 loads of laundry and still kept down my meager breakfast and lunch. It's good to be back!

For a Day

Mason was home yesterday, sick. Well kind of. Not by the looks of these pics ;) He was constantly blowing his nose and coughing. I tried to spare a few.

I finally went to the Dr. for myself. 14 days of junk and I am tired of it. I wish I could have enjoyed him a little more, but I was not feeling well myself. I thought I was getting better over the weekend, but started feeling worse on Sunday night. ugh! Maybe this means we will be well for Christmas?

He is official a school kid. Bored being at home all day. He has stopped playing like he once did :( But I am thankful he is so happy at school.

I fiddled with my camera quite a bit, hence the very different exposures.

Easter Morning

I wish I could say we had a glorious Easter Morning this year, but it was not fun and I'd rather not think about it. It was however a wonderful reminder of how much we need a Savior. I guess that kinda makes it the best Easter ever. Funny, how the Gospel changes everything ;)

EJ was gone and Ryan was VERY sick. I had not expected him to be worse 2 days after his Neb treatments and prescriptions started. I think he actually had RSV. He was miserable. He slept terrible Sat night, refused to eat or drink and insisted on being held ALL day long on Sunday. Fortunately, we spent most of the day in the car. It did make loading the van trickier than normal. He continued to sleep bad the next two nights and naps. By Tuesday, we were seeing glimpses of the Ryan we desperately missed.

He was so sick it didn't even matter that it was his 2nd birthday. Guess he is still 1, right? ;)

No cute Easter outfits for us this year. Or pictures for that matter. We didn't even go to church. I didn't want to leave him at home with my mom b/c he was such a mess. At least EJ didn't miss too much.
We pretty much ignored his birthday. That was the original plan when we knew EJ would be traveling. So I guess we should celebrate soon. I am a bit in denial. So far 2 is starting out rough. The only reason I am excited that he is 2 is because now I can do his silhouette to join his brothers on the dining room wall ;)

Fish Face

Apparently Pollen Yellow isn't a good look for Ryan. 

He started Nebulizer treatments today. Fortunately we shouldn't have do to them at night.
