In the Lead

It is always fun to cheer for my kids and even more when they win :) Mason is slowly losing interest in cub scouts. This became very obvious in the decorating of his pinewood derby car. He did however make a fast car. Both EJ and he are not sure their secret, but 3 years in a row now, seems less of a coincidence.

Mason and Check Mate

I finally remembered to take my camera to Mason's basketball game. There are only 2 games left in the season. He played a great game, probably played extra hard bc his grandparents were watching ;)

After he scores, he always ducks his head down, does a subtle hand pumping and sprints down the court to play defense. It's pretty cute and it's his signature celebration move.

 He also participated in the Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby this weekend. I love his smile!

Check Mate did pretty great and finished 3rd in the whole Derby.

 He placed 1st for his den. Ryan is his biggest fan ;)

My Sweaty Scout

I was very nervous to send Mason to an ALL day camp. I know it's weird b/c he goes to public school, but you just get used to that day in and day out. This is a much different setting and 2 hrs longer and during a scorcher of a week. We've had temps between 93-98 all week. 

Thankfully he has loved it. I wasn't sure how he'd handle the long days. No sun burn either. Just a heat rash one of the days. Phew!

One of my friends served as a chaperone yesterday and sent me pics during the day. It made my whole week!

They basically do these same activities each day in a rotation. Plus lunch and crafts. He will earn a badge by the end of the week. EJ is working at the camp tomorrow so hopefully I'll get some more pics.
He is one stinky, hungry boy when he gets home!
