It's Friday!

Hooray, EJ is on his way home from a business trip. He has been gone since Wed. We can't wait to see him. Owen keeps asking how many more days.
The house is not as clean or as neat as I would like for his return, but I had to lay my achy neck down this afternoon. I had PT again this morning and I am tired. How pitiful is that? I have never had whiplash, but I am assuming this is what it feels like. I knew the PT would be hard, but I feel worse than when I started. Taking an Aleve and laying down on my back definitely helped. But unfortunately, I can't fall asleep on my back and obviously I couldn't read so it took some will power just to lay there. Many of you have been prayed for today while I laid on my back. I had to do it at PT too with a ridiculous heat pack wrapped around me. So send your prayer requests I go back on Tues and Thurs :)

Make that 3...

of us who like pumpkin! We don't normally have choc for breakfast but I couldn't resist. They were just sitting on the counter, we need to eat them while they are fresh, right? Mason got so excited probably b/c it looked like a cupcake. Owen said he'd like it better without the choc. what?!?! And of course that is probably the part Mason prefers. As you can tell by the choc. smear.

Pumpkin Season

Let the pumpkin season begin! I love pumpkin goodies its one of the things I most look forward to in the fall. Then by Thanksgiving I've had so much that I don't want anything pumpkin until the next fall. Two weeks ago mom gave me some yummy pumpkin and walnut cookies dipped in white choc. Thanks Mom! Tonight while EJ was out we made pumpkin muffins with choc. chips. Fortunately Owen shares my love for pumpkin b/c EJ does NOT. I am glad not to eat the whole batch by myself. My college roomies may remember my "pumpkin treats? Hopefully I will make those soon. Wish you could be here to eat them with me. Although I am not sure any of them liked my special recipe. Isn't Mason so helpful? He taste tested the choc chips for us. Well... we all did :)

No pictures

Sorry no pics today. Today was a blur. I don't know how preschool mornings can go by 10x faster than when Owen is home, but they do. I did get to chase Mason around (which he loves) and read him more stories than usual. And we had a picnic lunch at the public library b/c we needed new books and I didn't make it there while Owen was in school. So we ate on a bench and watched everyone coming and going. After naps Owen wanted me to read him every single book. Fortunately Mason didn't mind.
Owen has a funny request at the library. He gets one "big" children's hardback book (100 + pages) to read to himself. He never asks us to read it to him, he just pretends to read it himself. I have gotten so I don't even read what its about as long as the cover doesn't look inappropriate. I am thankful he is interested!

Physical Therapy

This afternoon I had my first physical therapy session for my chronic jaw and recently recognized neck pain. It was very interesting! I discovered a lot about my body and pain that I hadn't even realized was an issue. It seems as though some poor posture at the computer has probably lead to pain in both problem areas. In recent years I have had jaw pain and finally it has gotten bad enough to get help. I have now learned that several of my vertebrae and the muscles near my throat are too weak (from the poor posture) so my jaw muscles are also being strained. What is crazy is that I didn't even realize how bad my neck was hurting until the Dr pointed it out by applying pressure to certain spots. The pain was associating itself in other places. Needless to say I am a bit sore. The PT massaged the really tight spots and will continue to try to "work them out." I will go back again on Fri for some heat therapy and more massage. Meanwhile I have silly homework to do. He is hoping to really loosen my muscles and make the weak ones strong again.
So be careful how you sit :)
