Silly Me

I used to think (before kids), when I wanted to make my home look like a P0ttery Barn magazine, that I'd never allow huge ugly plastic toys :) Little did I know, I'd have them and they'd be stacked on MY desk chair on top of the "coffee table."

Aside from needing my chair to type this blog post, I don't really care. They are happy and burning off energy on cold blustery days. Plus, I am a tired mama of four and I don't have the energy to be bothered like I used too ;)

Weekends

It's good to have daddy around a lot more :)
I found my egg nog drinking partner.
Call me old fashioned, but I must have some each Christmas. I first drink it when decorating the tree :) I don't like the rest to go to waste but one can only drink but so much egg nog and until now I was the only one who liked it. Better for her waistline than mine ;) Cheers!

One Track Mind

We are in basketball season now. How quickly he switches loves gears. Tonight is his first basketball game and no this is not his official uniform. Thank goodness ;) Today at school he presented his "Who am I?" biography. Of course he chose an athlete :) Pisto1 Pete a basketball player from the 70s. Part of the assignment was to dress like his person w/o buying or renting a costume. We did buy a $3 shirt and some iron on letters and blue Duck tape. He was quite proud our his costume :) He was so excited to go to school today. He did wear normal clothes to school, well almost...his real basketball jersey. Boys will be boys :)

The Magic of Christmas

This ornament was from EJ's childhood. It connects to the tree lights and runs little skiers around inside. She is fascinated by it, like the boys were at her age :)
I am oh so happy she is with us this Christmas. This time last year we were waiting for our log-in-date and had not yet been matched with our daughter. Now here she is, under my Christmas tree, 1 year later.
I am thankful that our love for her has come quickly and naturally. Our love, however is far from perfect and feels shallow at times. Having Avery has helped me be more amazed at God's ability (nature) to love (all of us) unconditionally. This little one teaches me so many things!
Her stocking is up!

The Tree

We bundled up on Saturday afternoon to find our tree. While I'd love to go to a farm and cut one down, we have yet to do that. It has become almost become an annual tradition to pick one from a local florist. We were a little late in the game, this year. But we found one and it barely fit, just the way I like it.
I wonder what this girl thinks now that we have a tree, inside our house ;)
The Santa was kinda creepy

The younger two would not even get close.

Owen thought Avery should hang the first ornament. He also suggested she hang our globe ornament that I bought last year for decor at the jewelry party in her honor. We thought his idea was perfect and so thoughtful. Daddy had the honors of helping.

Most days Owen is too "busy", but they still share a special bond.
