Lissa's Shower

I took the unconventional route in shower themes ;) Just to keep things interesting. My sister, Lissa, is an avid runner (or at least when not pregnant). I did not inherit the same running legs. She is also waiting to find out the gender, so hence the gender neutral colors!

Tori made the precious diaper cake and yummy "medal" shaped cookies that I forgot to photograph. The cookies and these water bottles were the favors for our guests. My living room was packed!

 She got so many great things, it was awesome!

The boys came home just in time to help load her car.

 I am bursting with excitement for my first nephew/niece to arrive. 

I can't wait to get some snuggle time.

A girl cousin sure would be nice for Sugar Plum ;)

 

At the start of last week, I began wondering my sanity that I would schedule the shower to follow the week of Spring Break when the boys would be home full time. I think it actually helped because Ryan was more entertained. I forget how that happens :) It also helped that my parents gave me a huge chunk of time to get stuff done. Needless to say the distraction of party prep was a welcome change from my constant worries/prayers concerning the LOA's arrival. This week, I am right back to thinking about it nonstop. Guess I am not so good at this waiting thing. Come on LOA, lets get this show on the road!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

My baby is THREE.

Our teeny tiny bike that both Owen and Mason learned to ride bikes on, is shot. Something NEW for him. What a treat!

 

And a new ball from his brothers.

 

He is still so little. 

Finally fits into his 2T clothes but he talks and acts like a 5 year old, sometimes 9 year old ;)

He makes everyone he meets laugh. I am not joking.

 

Grandma took the two of us out to lunch ;) 

It was quiet around here with the older two back in school.

 Ice cream sundaes for dessert. Ice cream and candy are his favorite foods.

 We love you little Ry Guy. So thankful for you.

Visiting the Capital

Considering we didn't have much planned for spring break it certainly went by quickly. We are going to have two very sad boys tomorrow morning. EJ took Thursday off and we hit the road for a day trip to D.C.

The boys were most excited for the metro ride. Although their excitement waned a lot quicker than I expected. I forgot how many stops it takes before getting into D.C.

 

We started at the National Museum of Natural History. We breezed through (a little too quickly for EJ, who apparently thought he might learn something that day) very quickly b/c 2 of the 5 of us don't read yet ;) It was very crowded and I spent the entire time keeping track of the boys. We ate a quick picnic lunch and then headed to the Air and Space Museum where we spent the majority of our day.

Ryan did extremely well without a nap and didn't doze off until after dinner on the way home. Thankfully the temperature was mild enough to enjoy some time outdoors. Both museums were packed and it wore us all out.

We opted to skip dinner in the big city and stopped halfway home. It was a fun day together!

Spring Break

It's Spring Break here. Boys are now used to being around each other and home 24/7. It's going to be sad going back to school. The other night, Owen asked who invented Spring Break b/c he likes it ;)

We don't have a lot planned. 

Some outside painting that desperately needed attention is being done this week. And I am happy to say I am only a spectator.

This weekend I am hosting my sister's baby shower (with the help of 2 others). So fun! Can't wait to celebrate my niece or nephew.

Owen counts down the days until his magazine will show up. This month all 3 were excited.

He Is Risen

No beautiful outdoor family pictures this year, thanks to the rain. 

We had a great low key Easter Sunday.

Baskets, church, egg decorating and then dinner and indoor egg hunting at my parents.
