Football Fanatics

Watching football
Doesn't EJ look so comfy?
Owen and I had fun cheering on the Broncos (my team) during a nail biting finish and WIN.
At least one of our teams is in the playoffs ;)

Thankful for the Weekend

This week was an adjustment for ALL of us. Getting back into the swing of things looks different for each of us. It won't totally feel "normal" until Wellspring starts back up on the 17th.
Today it was a treat to all be back together for the whole day. And the weather, unbelievable! Thank you Lord! I am not one of those people who want winter to stay winter-like once it starts. I am totally and perfectly happy with a gift of 70 degrees in January.
We made sure to enjoy the nice day and spent it outside at a park and playing b-ball in the driveway.

I am not sure if Owen has ever fed the animals before.
He is not nearly as timid around animals has he used to be.
me and my boys

Over the past 2 days, Mason has held my hand on several occasions.
LOVE it! It doesn't happen very much!
So I had to capture it of course :)
We had a wonderful picnic lunch soaking up some rays.
So thankful for my family-time.
And super excited for some girl-time tonight with Wellspring friends :)

I am So Sure

When EJ asked Owen what happened at recess yesterday (the goose egg under his left eye). He gave EJ a play-by-replay description using professional football player's names (I can't remember which ones) as if he were one of the pro-players and the kid who ran into him was another. He was so descriptive about the "play" he even forgot the part about getting bumped.
Oh, to by a fly in the sky on the playground!

Fresh Air

I needed some fresh air and I was determined to get some for the rest of us. Playing outside in our front yard isn't always easy. They each want to do very different things. So when Ryan woke up early from his nap we headed to a playground.
Owen was not excited, but once we got there he forgot he was too big ;)
He definitely adds a different dynamic to playground time as a 7.5 year old.
He is going to have a nice shiner tomorrow under his left eye.
He was hit with another head at recess playing football.

Dropping the Ball

Desperate times (extremely cold temps) call for desperate measures. And yes, the ball pit qualifies for "desperate measures." Only because having all those balls all over the place drives me batty.

 Static!
Mason is perfectly content to stay home and play and so today, I chose to do just that. Hopefully I can keep the pace from 2-6 p.m. :) Although today is warming up, so we can be outside this afternoon. I thought Owen was going to drive me crazy during homework time yesterday. It was very obvious they did not go outside for recess. He could NOT sit still.
We've stayed home a lot this week (Mason's 1st morning back is tomorrow). Mostly b/c I had no particular place to go and if I go out for no reason that usually means shopping, which I certainly did enough of back in Nov and Dec :) Staying home or indoors all day wouldn't be my first option. If lunch is over and cleaned up by 12:01 p.m. I know we are in trouble. The day just kind of drags. Don't get me wrong its a quick, never sit down kind of dragging on, but my mind goes a little numb.
I haven't felt a whole lot of purpose for my 1st week of the New Year. Just kind of going through the motions. Actually, I have stayed on top of the house chores (isn't that what everyone does the 1st week of a new year, ha). It's nice to have a tidy and clean house, but the satisfaction dies off quickly.
I have been slow to revamp our 5 Days, His Way. We didn't start back this week. But I am kind of glad I dropped the ball b/c it has made me realize just how important it is for ME. I truly miss it (I was afraid I wouldn't). I need a (vague) guideline for our afternoons. Otherwise we all just flounder about.
This weekend I will make preparations. I'd like to change the scripture verses and our vocab words.
Hopefully the boys will quickly realize how much they missed it too ;)
