Hummmmmmmm
Yep, still on the generator. Gotta love it. Today I was totally irresponsible and really responsible all at one time. I left the piles of laundry and our dark house and took all 3 boys to BG for our last day of the summer by myself.
Came back to a dark hot house.
His timing, always perfect. Our words this week for our summer study: joyfulness and self-control. Gotta love it. In an effort to be self-controlled that is all I will say :)

Prayer Countdown
I am perhaps for the first time enjoying praying with my children. I know that might sound bad, since Owen is already seven, just being honest. I think this summer has been a turning point in many ways. I think it's mostly due to their ages, but it might also have to do with my own walk.
I have begun to pray with them like I would pray on my own. Not using huge words, but not talking super slow and childlike. It just feels better. Not that there is anything wrong with praying like a child. Jesus said, let the little children come. Yes, there is a time for that, but I think the older 2 have outgrown it. Their prayers have increased in length too, which is confirmation to me.
Owen and Mason approach prayer much differently. Owen hardly ever volunteers (is worried about saying the wrong thing) and doesn't usually ask for prayer. Mason is quick to do both and rambles on and on.
Praying with Owen for his fears of swim team practice opened his eyes to a new understanding of prayer and the love his Heavenly Father has for him. It's no longer just about Sunday, meal time and bedtime prayers. This summer Owen saw his need for God.
Now as school approaches, Owen has another need. He is nervous. Apparently he heard this specific teacher "yell" at her class (on one occasion). That is all he knows of her. He has been talking about it a lot. We will meet her today.
Again, I can point him to his Creator who already knows his thoughts before he voices them out loud.
We have 5 nights remaining before the first day of school (assuming it has power) and we are going to pray each night for a new concern he has about the start of school.
He was genuinely comforted and agreeable to this plan. It gives me goosebumps. I am delighted to see this softer side of Owen.
How much more does Jesus the intercessor of our prayers, delight in praying for me?
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God." Romans 8:26-27

Hot Dog!
This may look like an ordinary picnic. But it's not. I grilled!
With our dinners being completely dependent on the grill, I decided I better figure it out.
I know how, but it's finicky to start so I just don't do it. Now I can have dinner ready when EJ gets home as opposed to after he is done grilling. I am tired of having to fend off 3 hungry boys. According to neighbors our new "status" for power is Sat at midnight. I won't hold my breath. Bummer!
25%
Yesterday, the power company predicted 75% of their customers would have power by the end of the day. Apparently we are in the 25%.
Kinda makes a girl feel special, NOT!
100% by Friday. Fingers and toes crossed! I'd love to have a 3 day weekend to recover from this void of a week.
