Count down

EJ has taken the boys to the library. Owen was begging me all day yesterday, but we just didn't have time. I am thrilled he loves reading so much. Then they are meeting my dad half way.

I am off to Michaels to keep my mind of my empty stomach. No food or water since 11:30 p.m. How did Jesus ever make it 40 days in the desert?

Only 4 hours to go.

We'll update when we get home today but I can't imagine it will be before 6.

Clever

So, Mason has recently discovered that the bathroom stool has other uses! So far only helpful ones. He ran off to get it to help me with the laundry. And once when I was sitting on the floor he ran to get it so he could climb on my back.

the List

Checking lots of my list.
Cleaned and did the grocery shopping this morning.
Lots of pudding, yogurt and smoothie ingredients :)

The boys have already taste tested the pudding. The verdict is YUM!
His face is sad b/c he wanted more.

Just a few more cleaning chores to do.
Pack the boys for grandmas.
Get Easter baskets in order.

2 days and counting

For the past 9 months I have been working with different doctors and therapists to relieve several chronic TMJ/TMD issues. 2 months ago it was determined by an MRI that I needed surgery to correct the problems. Scheduling surgery was not as easy as you'd think. By God's mercy we were given special permission from our insurance to receive surgery in April (out-of network), rather than have to wait until August for the one and only in-network surgeon. There were tons of phone calls and tears on my part but the time has finally arrived.
Now excitement and relief has been replaced by nerves and a long to-do list. I was thankful for our busy weekend as it helped keep me distracted from the pending surgery, but now its quickly approaching.
I have a lot I want to get done before Thurs. mostly b/c I don't know how soon I'll be back to full speed. The boys will be spending Thursday and Friday at my parents and EJ's mom has graciously agreed to come and help the remainder of my recovery.
It will be an outpatient procedure at the hospital at 2 p.m. on Thurs. With a 3-5 day recovery. I had my pre-op appointment yesterday to go over all the details. I dropped off 4 prescriptions at the pharmacy (that sort of made it hit home, that this will not be fun) to go along with the 2 prescriptions I am already taking.
I will resume therapy the following week and will be going 2 times a week for 6-8 weeks.
I will also be on a soft diet for 4 weeks! Can you imagine? At least I won't have to worry about bathing suit season approaching.

I would greatly appreciate your prayers Thursday! And Pray for EJ as he sits and waits in the hospital by himself for several hours.

the Wedding

EJ and Owen attended Jaime and Chris's ceremony Sat. afternoon while Mason and I hung out at the hotel so he could nap. It was actually a perfect arrangement b/c Mason would not have sat quietly during the ceremony anyway. There was a 2.5 hour gap between the ceremony and the start of the reception. (this seems to be a new trend?) So I had almost 2 hours to myself (in the dark hotel room or bathroom). I got ready for the reception, read and painted my nails :)

Somehow in the planning (I love to plan) it escaped my mind that the reception would be a sit down dinner. Thus entailing a very lengthy time for two boys to sit with 6 other adults. Not a good combination. I don't think dinner was served until about 2.5 hours into it. Fortunately there were at least a dozen children, so it wasn't just my children running circles around the dance floor.
Things I soon hope to forget:
Owen nearly tripping a waiter carrying a tray of drinks.
Mason's pants falling down to his ankles TWICE, b/c his pants were too big.
Mason throwing up TWICE, b/c he was congested and running. Fortunately both times were fairly discreet.
Mason knocking over a glass of water at our table.
Needless to say I was a nervous wreck and didn't enjoy myself until the dancing started. Because then my children blended in with the rest of the noise. And boy did they dance.

Mason had never met Jaime before, but he spun her around the dance floor more than her new husband.
